The bad news - the contents in the letter are correct, according to HDB. Now we are 60K short. Honestly I don't even know if that 60K existed in the first place. But the thing that got me really more upset at HDB today was how the agent could turn the tables and say that I didn't tell her I pay CPF every month. And FYI she had all my personal documents (bank statements) to make those calculations. Additionally she added that the amount she gave was only an estimate. In my head, I'm thinking ánd that ranges from what? $1 to $100K? Sigh.
Ok so now the good news. We have some cash to spare. That's savings that we are dipping in of course but it's not as bad as that I have to sell my bonds or shares or go borrow money. Thank God! Still the budget is completely off and I have to look at cutting my renovation budget. Very depressing. Very. To think I have been dreaming big dreams these few months.
I've been advised that we can log a complaint for bad judgement, poor counsel and misleading information. I don't exactly want to put someone out of a job (and I know if I really want to, I probably could find that energy in me to) but I really don't think I should be paying for such service rendered.
Dilemma.
Sorry to hear about this. Will your renovation plans be adversely affected by the budget reduction? ~Jean
