Ma Maison!

Ma Maison Restaurant at Parco, Marina Bay
(New wing at Millennia Walk)

I have to rave about this Japanese chain serving up a fusion of Jap/Asian and Western cuisine because it's lived up to every expectation. It was our usual weekend of looking for furniture, household stuff and we went by Harvey Norman at Millennia Walk. It was thereafter that we chanced upon Ma Maison.

This was the latest of three outlets in Singapore and while I've seen and heard much about the Central branch (it's perpetually crowded by the way), I was pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant at Millennia and of course quite happy to have gotten a table. Ma Maison means 'my house' and I love that it has a homely cosy ambience, somewhat like a cosy English cottage. Seated in the restaurant, you wouldn't have guessed that it was a Japanese chain of restaurants. Then again the Japanese are known for their hospitality and service and that was what we got.

Clam Chowder, Scallop Carpaccio, Hamburger Steak & Seafood Paella

Every bit was delish. While the food wasn't exactly cheap and I wasn't expecting it to be either, I felt it was worth every penny. We spent 70 bucks and it was a memorable meal, for its food, for its ambience and for its service.

Did I forgot to add: Ma Maison has a family promotion now. Dad gets a pint of Asahi, Mom gets a scoop of ice-cream and Kiddo gets a small toy. Or rather, I had the beer, Claire got her toy and she and I shared the ice cream. :D Sorry hubs.

Our happy family!
