Isn't She Lovely?

Love this dress on Claire
Photo taken at my dad's church fun fair

It's been ages since I blogged. Three weeks I think. And the last three weeks have been crazy, mostly with work and house renos and with K off to Indonesia for a week, my hands were full full full. I'll do some updates when I find a little more time although it's not going to get any better with the Big Move happening in the next two weeks!

Decided to make this post about Claire though because I realised I haven't been sharing much about her. I love that photo of her - P.S. planning to blow it up and have it on a photo feature wall in the new house. She'll be three in January (I suddenly cannot count in terms of months any more, so no more a baby I suppose) and everyone says she's looking more like me. *Smile* Good thing I hope. Her eyes are still very much like K's.

It's really amazing to watch a child grow and see how she develops especially in terms of character and how she (so wonderfully and scarily) resembles bits of you. Claire has always been bubbly, smiley and talkative and now's no different. It's almost the end of the so-called 'terrible twos' and I wouldn't say this year has been that terrible after all. She does have her moments and knows how to get her way (especially with her Papa) by whining and crying. Thankfully it never goes past a minute or two. But I'm always praying for heaps of patience and lots of love - often it's not easy to keep my temper in check, more so when I'm feeling stressed with other things. Children learn and pick things really quickly and I'm constantly telling myself to say things the way I would like her to. She's learnt how to say 'Mama, will you keep quiet please'. No prize who she picked that up from. Somehow she likes to try to do everything I do - these days it's about make-up. :S

Two things about Claire I'm trying to do / change (which I'm finding it really tough to do): One, toilet training. She does the big ones in the bowl but gets lazy with the pee pees. Two, since day one Claire has had two fingers stuck into the mouth, more so when she's tired, about to sleep, bored or stoning. Tried painting the bitter nail polish (doc says it's safe) but doesn't work since it does wear off. Sigh.

Other then that, Claire is a really a lovely and beautiful child. I'm probably biased as most parents would be of their own, but my Claire is really a sweet child. She learnt about the ten commandments at Sunday School the other day and told me one day (like out of the blue and at a time I somehow needed to hear it) - You love God? God love you Mama. :)

My mini-me
Trying to be the next 'soloist' - it's quite cute; every time I sing on stage, she wants to come on to play the piano and sing as well.

2 lovings:

  1. Thanks for sharing. Am trying to enjoy every moment, even the 'siong' stuff, with my little one. Good reminder.

  2. You should get someone to convert your blog posts into a diary for keeps :) So that you can have all these lovely records for memories and for Claire to read when she grows up! Let me know if you manage to find someone who can do this :)
